 As a part of 'Trek with a cause' initiative of CTC, we are organizing a kids outing on Sunday, 28th of August 2011. The objective of this one day outing is to take out around 26 kids from Vallalar Gurukulam to our Nagala and provide them with once-in-a-lifetime experience. Participants will spend an entire day with the kids in the beautiful stream and pools of Nagala.  About Vallalar Gurukulam: Vallalar Gurukulam located at Medavakkam consist of 26 inmates. The kids are orphans and destitute. The kids are educated in nearby government High School. The home needs attention as they are running short of funds to meet day today expenses.  Expense: Participation expense is Rs.600/- which includes sharing the cost of transportation and food for both participants and the kids.  Sponsorship: People who can’t join on the trek but wish to sponsor for the kid can transfer Rs. 300/- People to would like to sponsor in any other means like food, chocolates etc. can get in touch with the organisers.  Kind Attention: This Social Trek is only for those who are interested to spend time with the kids and make them happy. Others, you have many more treks upcoming. Participants will assemble on Sunday early morning, go to Vallalar Gurukulam and pick up the kids. We will have breakfast along the way reach Nagala east, spend time and have lunch and return to Chennai by evening around 8pm. Focus should be on interaction with and safety of the children. Transportation: In the social treks we usually run short of transportation in Social Treks. So we would request the participants to bring along a car as far as possible. Fuel cost will be reimbursed. If any car participants wish to bring without reimbursement pls let us know. We also welcome member who can’t join the trek but still provide us their car. This will help us reducing the expenses and any balance amount left can be given to the home. 24 volunteers took 26 kids from Vallalar Gurukulam to our mother land Nagala.
One team from Madhya kailash and Tidal reached the home to pick up the kids later joined the koyembedu team near Panimalar College. We had a breakfast with fun at poondi reservoir.  We reached the base and started walking brisk as groups, after collecting the food items.  We spent awesome time at the stream splashing water on each other.  We reached the second pool. Kids just jumped into the pool with the tubes with the vigil by volunteers.  All the teams cooked yummy noodles. We started back and had one more play at the stream. Most of the volunteers had bought chocolates, cookies, sweets and shared with the kids. The kids were so happy about the trek. As it was getting later we bought dinner.  Hats Off To Volunteers. You had brought a million dollar smile on these kids face.
