Hi All,
A group of approximately 45 trekkers/volunteers made it to the Social Trek along with an equal number of kids from Sree Karpakavalli vidyalaya. Thanks to all Volunteers and participants who made it a memorable one for the kids.. Special thanks to Peter, who made it to the trek though he had a Business Trip in the later part of the day. There was a very good response since we announced the Social trek 28. In fact we got overwhelming response even after closing the registrations. We got much sponsorship. Great full to Bhawana who sponsored for the 31 swimming tubes which will take care of the safety of the kids not only on this Social trek but even the future ones. The other generous person is Geeta who sponsor’s Fruity and biscuits on social trek.
Group of volunteers from Tidel and Madhya Kailash went t the school and picked the kids. Meanwhile Guindy and Koyambedu volunteers assembled near the flyover to join the kids. We started once to Nagala once the kids joined us. We reached the base around 8.30 am. We had yummy idles as breakfast. The lunch was distributed.  The volunteers and the kids were divided into 5 groups so that they have a better interaction and understanding. After a brief on do’s and don’ts on the trek we started. Vadi was navigating the group. We reached stream and you should seed the brightness on the kid’s faces. The kids started paying. We spent 15 min there and headed towards the second pool. There started the real fun. All the kids with the swimming tubes jumped into the water at once. All the kids were in ecstasy.  We had yummy lime rice for lunch. It was so fun playing anthakshari, teasing the opponent team, dancing for the songs, rejecting the judge, lol. We started back to the base ad had verity of biscuits and chocolate sponsored by the volunteers. We assembled for a wonderful group photo at the base.  And started from there by 5.30. After a halt for a cup of tea at uthukottai reached Chennai heart full satisfaction. Thank you volunteers to bring a million dollar smile on the every kids face. Hats Off to you guys.
