Social trek 22- initially we planned to take Good life home but as there the kids had school which was announced by school authority we were unable to take them. Still we don’t want to disappoint the wonderful volunteers of CTC. We spoke with Anbu Illam and at the last moment and the kids were so happy that CTC is taking them to a trek once again. A group on 34 volunteers along with 3 kids assembled at Koyambedu from the other pickup points headed towards the home and reached the home by 6. 30 am. The kids were ready for wonderful days out. We had our breakfast midway after Periyapalayam. We reached the base. We gave the caps donated by Suresh and fruits by Suman to the kids. After distributing and instruction given to the volunteers, we started with a brisk walk and reached the stream. There we drenched ourselves in cool water. We played for 15 min and started towards the first pool. The kids were efficient swimmers who jumped from the top to in deep waters. We spent some time in first pool and started to the second pool. We played for a long time. Sometime later we had yummy lunch. The kids and the volunteers started for the fun session 2 after the lunch. We swam, played, jumped, slide from the fall and what not we did. We started from the second pool having sweet chocolates by Dhana. We reached base and chocolates was given by Madhu Kiran, biscuits by Dinesh & Nisha. Sketch and colours pencils were given by Kirti. The kids were as happy as were the volunteers. Volunteers, Hats Off To You. You had brought a million dollar smile on these kids face. Special Thanks to one all who made a difference, who made the kids happy. Pls Share you memories and photos, the evidence of you memories here: |

Hi all,
I would like to thank Thilak and Peter for the wonderfully organized social trek. Special regards to all the volunteers for making it a trek to cherish. For a change, I had the experience of being an official photographer with my Canon 10x Digital Camera. It would obviously reflect on the lesser number and quality of the pics taken on this trek ;) Social treks combine my favorite features of CTC, socializing and trekking, along with spending time with underprivileged kids. The spirit and attitude of the kids among the difficulties they are in, inspires me a lot. This is my second social trek organized my Thilak that I had attended and I would like to acknowledge the noble deed he's been doing. I would also like extend my support in the future social treks. It was really nice meeting you after a long time, Sudhir Bhai. I also happened to meet the only second ever Singh who ever speaks Tamil fluently in my life, Mr. Thara, a man's uniqueness adds to the amount of respect he commands...Hats off :) Picassa has been refusing to upload my pics for a long while now. So, I shall update the link as soon as it done. It was really nice meeting everyone yesterday. Best wishes until we meet again in one of the subsequent treks :) Here are some of the pics... http://picasaweb.google.com/maruvit/CTCST0910201002# Will post a new msg once all pics are uploaded
